Ofelia
Ofelia, by Emma-Sofie Feen, is a piece that makes use of interview material from the choreographer's mother, aunt and grandmother to interpret and tell the story of Shakespeare's character Ophelia from Hamlet.

Emma is interested in different experiences of girlhood and relations to other people, often men, during the years leading up to adulthood. She has also explored the dynamics between different generations of women in her own family, in particular how certain experiences connected to girlhood are either imposed on daughters by their mothers, or attempted removed from their upbringing.

Ofelia is an honest interpretation, with elements of sweetness, bitterness and nostalgia. The piece is scored by composer August Røse, and premiered in August 2024.
